The Certified Pool Operator course covers basic knowledge for professional pool operators, managers, facility maintenance, and aquatics staff. This training goes into water chemistry, water circulation, filtration, and facility operations. It also covers safety, health codes, swimming pools and spas/hot tubs. This certification is valid for 5 years.
The rapid advances in know-how and technology of pool operation require constant honing of skills. With upward of 4-million pools of all types now in virtually daily use by millions of people, the need for qualified operators is greater than ever. And the need will continue to grow. Anyone supervising the operation of any kind of pool has a life- and health-guarding responsibility. The operator must keep the facility in good operational order and operate it efficiently, effectively and economically. Only an individual with suitable training is qualified to meet such responsibilities.
