Start Preparing for Summer! - March 29, 2016
After months of cold, snow and rain, and now we are all waiting for the warmer weather to arrive! There are a few things that you can do to prepare for Summer and make Spring more enjoyable!
1. Review what inventory you have in stock.
Check the garage, pool house or storage for the water care products that are leftover from the prior year. make sure they have been properly stored. During the winter some products may collect moisture or become frozen during the winter months and may need to be replaced. Make a list of anything that needs to be restocked.
2. Inspect your pool equipment and accessories. Cold winter months have the ability to weaken or even break some of these items.
Check all of your equipment thoroughly. This includes the pool filter, cleaner, pump, accessories and any gaskets or o-rings that may have been removed during the pool closing. Make sure that everything is in functioning order and no parts or piece are broken, missing or worn out. Its simple to replace parts and pieces when a swimming pool is still closed down for winter!
3. It’s Spring and that means it’s time for some cleaning! Remove any debris from around your pool decks and cover.
If you use a winter pool cover, make sure to remove any debris such as leaves, pine cones and pine needles. Don’t forget about any standing water that may have collected on top of the cover. Yes it’s gross to deal with but when it comes time to open your swimming pool, you’ll thank us! We recommend using a pool cover pump connected to a hose to pump off excess water.
