Team & Club Rewards to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery - April 11, 2014
Pool World wants to give a big thanks to Jim C. for selecting Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery as the organization to receive a $100 Team & Club Rewards Donation!! Thank you Jim!!
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery improves the lives of children by providing immediate refuge and safety and ongoing family support in an environment of unconditional love. Since 1987, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery has served and improved the lives of 75,000 children.
The nursery provides 24-hour child care for parents when they find themselves in distress, (emotional, domestic violence, homelessness, depression, financial, etc.) they call the Crisis Nursery to ask for help. Children accepted into the nursery are between birth and age 6 where they may stay up to 72 hours, or longer if circumstances are dire. While children are at the nursery they will receive food, clothing, diapers and one on one attention. The staff and numerous volunteers are able to care for 32 children day and night.
The organization also provides a variety of parenting classes. Each class is a series of 8-weeks that are offered during the day, evenings and weekends to accommodate all parents who need of their services and are free of charge. In these classes, parents will learn about what is developmentally appropriate for children, how to discipline effectively and how to access social services to assist them in their day-to-day.
